Annular corrugated flexible metal hose type REX-INOX without gaskets and interlocking, is perfect pressuretight with high flexibility assured by the deformation of the continous thin wall.
To restrain the internal pressure thrust it is equipped outside with one or more metal wire braids.
They are designed and fabricated according to ISO 10380 and ISO 10807 standards

From -270°C to + 600°C

WORKING PRESSURE<
The pressure Pc shown in the table is the maximum allowable working at ambient temperature. For different values it must be adjusted.

BURST PRESSURE
The burst pressure is 4 time the maximum pressure Pc.

TEST PRESSURE
The test pressure should not exced 1,5 time the maximum allowable pressure Pc

BENDING RADIUS
The dynamic bending radius Rn shown in the table is valid for 50.000 cicles at pressures Pc.
The static bending radius Rmin shown in the table is valid for only one bend at pressure Pc.

FLUID VELOCITY
High conveyant velocity should be avoied, as the corrugation could enter into resonant vibrations resulting in premature failure.
Maximum recommended velocity 40 m/sec.

APPLICATION AND INSTALLATION
The flexible metal hose is installed to satisfy the required movements: free, linear, angular, misalignement, thermal expansion, vibration, permanent bend stc.
All movements must be always in the same plane.
Properly installed, the flexible metal hoses guarantee the best service.

  • Torsion must be avoied, it causes severe stress in the corrugations. This can occur while making up the threaded couplings or aligning bolt holes on flanges.
    The use of unions and floating flanges is suggested. Out of plane movements cause torsion; where necessary, rigid fittings like elbow etc. should be installed to allow single plane movements.
  • Avoid overbending; if flexible metal hose is bent on a radius less than the minimum recommended, premature failure will result.
  • Avoid damage, particular care should be taken during handling where abrasion can damage the wall and braid wires.
    Clean after use, do not allow paints, resins, etc. to remain in the corrugation, because they will solidify and impair the flexibility.
