GAV expansion joints are manufactured with a production program covering the range ND 900 - ND 3000 using a higly flexible process that allows to fit the layers composition to the speicific design requirements.
Typical layers composition is the following:

  • External layer in chloroprene resistant to industrial atmospheric corrosion
  • Carcass in rubber reinforced with PTFE and/or steel ropes in order to assure the proper resistance to the working pressure
  • Internal layer in several types of rubber materials (chloroprene, EPDM, Hypalon, NBR, etc) in order to assure chemical resistance against corrosion due to the conveyed fluid

Steel connection flanges are normally manufactured in two halves; the flange dimensions and boring are in accordance with intarnationl standards (ISO, DIN, ANSI, AWWA, BS, etc) type FF, following the design specification.
Upon request, vacum rings can be supplied in several materials (generally stainless steel grade 316L).
Standard GAV joints are suitable for working pressure up to 2.5 bar; upon request, GAV joints for higher pressure (6 - 10 - 16 - 25 bars according to the diameters) can be supplied.
The maximum working temperature is a function of the specified type of rubber (generally 90° and, upon request up to 120°C.)

Travel Limit Rods

The limit rode are foreseen in the following main two shapes:
- standard shapes (see sketches A and B) for axial movements
- spherical seats shapes (see sketches C and D) for lateral movements

The connection of the limit rods is foresees with mounting brackets secured to the pipe flanges (see scketches B and D) or directly to the joint flanges having a special design (see sketches A and C).
Upon request, different external hardware like hinges cardans, etc can be supplied.
